This insect was approximately one inch long.

I saw one of these on a windo
I saw one of these on a window on my house and it appeared to be depositing eggs there. I took some pics and will try to post them. Is this common?

It's a mantidfly (order neuroptera, family mantispidae, probably genus Mantispa)
