at first i thought it could be Hodges#2415 (Urodus parvula)but not with the orange patch...then i thought it could be a lichen moth or a grass moth..but i couldnt bear that out..

Hmmm...
Edie,
It's wrapped like
Urodus parvula
, but no spurs. Also, I think the Urodoidea moths are strictly eastern. I'm thinking the palps are your best clue
