Synopsis
impressive job, a labor of love, and a precious addition to my nature library (just got my copy from Lynn and Gene)

Wonderful & useful resource!
I second the praise given by =v=...this book constitutes an ambitious and impressive undertaking! The breadth and depth of coverage here for the desert arthropod fauna of southern California (and adjacent areas of western Arizona and southern Nevada) are far beyond what any other regional guidebook or similar reference offer.

I recently returned from a trip to the Colorado desert, and nearly all of the many mystery insects I'd seen on my trip were quickly illucidated by browsing this beautifully illustrated volume (1671 color photos!). This book will go with me whenever I visit the deserts of southern California. It can be ordered from the publisher Granite Ridge Nature, or from Amazon. Well worth it for naturalists interested in the desert insects of southern California and adjacent areas.
