No luck IDing after looking through wasps and bees for a while. One of these stung me as a youngster.

Now that I think of it, I am not sure whether this can sting, or just lays eggs.

 
Supposedly they can't sting,
but I've been poked by them a few times, so I think they can definitely use their ovipositor to give you a stab. It never hurts for long, though.

 
Painful poke.
At 4 years old, I think a poke was enough for a bad memory... and a memorable insect!
