Chrysalis, found on brocolli leaf gyrating, in Phippsburg, ME on Sept. 6, 2006. Found while weeding vegetable garden, afternoon -

September 6, 2006
Size: 1 inch
see above. Most interesting was the gyrating movement of the chrysalis that lasted intermittently several hours.

I agree, it looks like something in that family, at least
It doesn't have the shiny spots of the Question Mark chrysalis, though, and the spines and overall shape are a little different, too. Compare:
