Is this Malachius capillicornis? - Pedilus
Irvine Regional Park, Orange, Orange County, California, USA
March 21, 2013
On the ever-popular encilia

Moved
Moved from Pedilus.

Pedilus sp. [inconspicuus (Horn)?]
I agree, the exposure is not being friendly - if I had to put a nickel on it, I'd go with Pedilus inconspicuus (Horn) but there are at least two other possibilities in that region.

easily P. bardii, but not enough evidence to make a call
Moved from ID Request.

Thanks. For the ID, move, and the platitude as well.
.

new vintage, eh? great to see you back in business
Pedilus of sorts; must see its butt clearly to tell sp. [the males have all sorts of species-specific funny fanny dents and folds, gals are all but indistinguishable, no offense]

Thanks, =v=
Not a wonderful shot and I have nothing else better. I shot a Pedilus bardi at the same location some years ago.

It's good to be back, but I'm not as stoked as I once was, plus I sold some gear, gained some pain, and lost some skills. Stay tuned, my friend!

i am tuned --you can count on that!
as a noted scholar once said, Don't wish people health; wish independence of health.
sorry about the unsolicited platitude.
