Size: ~35-40 mm
Taking nectar in Lepidospartum squamatum (Scale broom). Another, smaller species was feeding in the same shrub.

Wow.
What a fantastic image of a truly beautiful insect. Nice work!

 
Just lucky
to come upon this particular Scale broom while two different Pepsis species were taking nectar. Also noticed that the females can uncurl their antennae (see two added photos of the same wasp).
