Who is this??!! (see all 4 photos) Found a little (.5") all green caterpillar in my celery that I purchased from a store, so I don't know origin of caterpillar. It was Early March and VERY cold outside (Maine) with lots of snow so I put little guy in a little plastic container with celery. It ate like crazy! Grew to twice original size (.5 to 1") - shed it's "skin" (see "skin" in photos). Became more pale like in photo with dark dashes. I moved it into a more realistic container with rocks/moss and sticks. It immediately went to devouring the moss - it LOVED the moss. Grazed like a little horse :) Ate a sort of cave into moss and tucked itself in. Then it became even more pale and very lethargic - I thought it was ill so I took it out of it's moss cave. Then that very night, last night (4/11/13), it made its cocoon and shed its "skin" again. When I checked on it 4/11/13 it was the cocoon you see in photo. Odd, it looks like it has wings already?! Should I put it back in it's moss cave? Or just leave it alone? Should I do anything to keep it healthy until it emerges? Snow for tomorrow so still too cold to put outside. Thanks for any info :)
