You can put it in any of the categories to which you are sure it belongs. The larger categories (such as "Orthoptera" or "Caelifera" will get it noticed more quickly than if you happen to put it in the wrong genus, and if you post it to species and end up being wrong, it might not be corrected for quite some time. "ID Request" is just fine too (afer-all, that's what it's for), and it will get found there too, but there are so many posts there that sometimes if it doesn't get noticed right off, it tends to get buried by the newer posts to the point where it might go unnoticed for some time.

prettymuch here is how I understand it. if the photo is good and is needed for the guide.. for example if there is no photo of this grasshopper for Wy in the guide for August, it will stay probably several would..a good photo of most things may stay..sometimes I will remove even a good photo of a moth of mine..because there are others for my state for the month and I needed just the grooming of the id..you can post directly to grasshoppers close to you grasshoppers which I understand makes it easier for the experts.
