On Bidens. Resembles Stephen's Stiretrus (below), which I gather is highly variable. What do you think?

Hannah, Looks like a match to me. How to Know the True Bugs concentrates on the pronotum: "A broad dark central pronotal stripe, with a large pale area posteriorly on either side, the pale patch containing one to three spots." The authors could have had your example in hand as they wrote that!

I love that your photo shows some of the bug's body, below the wing covers, and there are polka-dots there too! Nice photo.
