I found this bland colored caterpillar running across a bike-path at Bidwell park . It matched the asphalt color exactly ! There were many Spicebush Swallowtails zooming around the oak woodland . I could not find anything like it in the guide but I had no clue about what I was looking for . My photos are not as clear as I would have liked since it was running across the trail , then when I touched it ... it squirmed back and forth in a rapid motion and tucked it's antennae like projections under itself and then stayed still .
