This actually looks to me like a syrphid egg. Not sure why it would have been put there.

I would love to know what the parasite is.
The colors of the puparium don't reflect those of the adult. What you see is the "skin" of the last larval stage, that is why it is called puparium insead of pupa.
However, when the adult form is just about to emerge, this layer is so translucent that you can actually recognize the colors and pattern of the adult fly. I have reared some Syrphini and was amazed to see this.
