ID for two bees in Phacelia? - Dufourea
Claremont, Los Angeles County, California, USA

On an overcast and cool (for April in SoCal - about 60°F) afternoon at the Claremont Colleges' Robert J. Bernard Biological Field Station, lots of bees were "sleeping" in the Phacelia distans. I was photographing this large one when I realized it had a small companion in its flowery bed. Any information about their identities will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, John! I see that all the BugGuide photos of Dufourea probably mulleri were taken at the field station by either Hartmut Wisch or me. And they are all on Phacelia distans.

Any suggestions for the little one?
