Idia aemula
After looking at both species in BOLD and MPG again, I still think this one looks more like I. aemula .

Bleptina minimalis?
All the examples I find of Idia aemula are wider and more rounded at the shoulders with the rest of the costa being less inwardly curved. Also, I can't find any with an am. line which end straight and expanded at the inner margin. They all seem have two outwardly curved teeth between the inner margin and the orbicular. Also, I'm not sure it can have legs like this.

This does agree with Bleptina minimalis.

Moth ID
I agree. Bleptina minimalis. Thanks for your help. I wish more experts would help those of us that are inexperienced.

Size?
The original description for B. minimalis can be found here. It mentions this as being ocherous to dark gray whereas yours is more of a purplish gray. This may be irrelevant. Ground color in other species within this genus seem to vary a lot. The rest of the description seems OK to me. Your moth is also outside it's known breeding range. However, it is know to stray all the way to Florida.

What was the wing span? If it were in the 14 mm range, I think we can tentatively move to species. All the other species appear to be larger. For comparison, Idia aemula is about 24 mm.

8372 – Bleptina sangamonia?
Take a look at BOLD and MPG. What image in Idia aemula looks like this?
