Fly trying to escape - Hermetia illucens

Fly trying to escape - Hermetia illucens
Briar Bush Nature Center, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, USA
April 21, 2013
H. illuscens perhaps?
About ten of these flies were trying to escape the nature center's building. Some were dead or dying. Perhaps the larvae had bred on the animal feed (fruits, vegetables) of the several specimens kept in the center.
The window-like structures on the abdomen that give this fly its name are very clear here.
