Wasp - Large black with yellow markings and reddish-brown eyes. - Sphecius speciosus

Size: 1.25" to 1.5"
Several of these wasps (5-6) were working a cow-itch vine in a business district in small town in south Alabama. Would allow me to get fairly close to them but if I crowded too much they would ease away from me. Saw them for several weeks.
