I captured this insect with my phone, hence it is not a brilliant shot. My assumption is that this is a moth, a day flying moth.

REALLY!? So, where do you suggest I put it? Reading the help files suggest that images up for ID should be frassed once identified.

 
Pyrgus communis
Since Bugguide is also a database, new records are always welcome. It should be moved to the Pyrgus communis images page. The instructions on how to do it are on the site somewhere. You could wait till one of the editors moves it.

Thanks Larry, I have figured it out and moved it as you suggested.

and you picked the wrong one :-) The knobs on the antennae ends make it a butterfly, in this case a Common checkered-skipper, Pyrgus communis
