Springtail - Seira

Springtail - Seira
Cottonwood Heights, Salt Lake County, Utah, USA
April 21, 2013
The closest thing I could find was Willowsia platani, but that seems rare. This was my first (very, very humbling) attempt at photographing springtails, so please feel free to frass if these don't lead anywhere. These little guys were fast moving as springtails go!

Seira sp. new species
In the mean time this form has been recorded from several locations in Europe and it turned out to be a new undescribed species of Seira.
It is now under description by Dr Javier Arbea.
At www.collembola.org we have collected some records under the tentative name Seira sp.13.

Much thanks, all!

Entomobrya triangularis
A dark colour form. E. triangularis is quite variable in colouration. From diffuse blue pigmentation (previously called E. tampicensis) to banded pigmentation. This specimen matches with fig.713C in Christiansen & Bellinger (1998).
Pls, do not frass.
