Unknown Fly - Themira - Male
Cottonwood Heights, Salt Lake County, Utah, USA
April 21, 2013
A lek of these has been displaying in a patch of dirt in some overwintered kale plants for the last few days. Much waving of wings, flitting about and skirmishes, all of which attracted my attention in the first place.

Linking images as I doubt these are the same specimen.

Acalyptrate
Some male acalyptrate, I think. The hind tibia is modified and should be recognizable to an expert in the appropriate group.
