Grizzled Mantid - Gonatista grisea - Female
Sarasota County, Florida, USA
September 10, 2006
Size: 3.5"
I see this species in my yard each year, always in the same pecan tree. This one is female and she has just laid eggs (seperate picture). She doesn't mind my nosing around her, watching and photographing. I usually only see her eating at night.

Gonatista grisea
I would love to have an ootheca from this species, please email me if you would happen to find one! Thanks
