Grass Spider, maybe? - Dolomedes scriptus

Grass Spider, maybe? - Dolomedes scriptus
Milton, Chittenden County, Vermont, USA
September 6, 2010
I think this is a grass spider, but I have never been able to verify that fact. Any chance it can be identified to Genus species?
It was found in tall grass beside our dock within several feet of lake shore.

Moved
Moved from ID Request. Yep, that looks right to me too.

Dolomedes
This critter's actually a fishing spider, genus Dolomedes. Maybe D. scriptus? Let's see what others think.

Fishing Spider?
Wow, I wouldn't thunk!
However, what about those scales on its abdomen? It must be a female because of its size, but what about those scale-like look on its abdomen? Is that usual?
I haven't come across any Fishing Spider pics that show those scales.

Many thanks in advance.

Not scales
That's a pattern that resembles scales. I never thought of it resembling scales before. That's interesting since it's a 'fishing' spider. Compare with others here

Fishing Spider!!
EXCELLENT!!
I guess my spider is a Fishing Spider.
Boy they look like scales to me - wow, what a name considering what they do and the pattern on their abdomen. Nice!

Many thanks for the ID and help. Wish this female had come back the following year, but never saw her again.
