Red-headed Meadow Katydid - Orchelimum erythrocephalum - American Tobacco Trail north of Scott King Road, Durham County, North Carolina, USA October 1, 2004
These were all over the place in early October in old fields in the lower Piedmont of North Carolina. Males are singing like crazy. This female was perched low to the ground in a power line right-of-way, near a singing male that had attracted my attention.
