Seaside Dragonlet - Erythrodiplax berenice - female

Seaside Dragonlet - Erythrodiplax berenice - Female
Jekyll Island Causeway, Glynn County, Georgia, USA
April 26, 2013
First BG datapoint for Georgia. On this date I observed approximately 10 individuals; most were females. The wind was blowing very hard and they were very skittish. I could not get close to them even by low-crawling. Eventually, they all disappeared from sight, probably by going into the taller and thicker vegetation.

Fitz Clarke has photographed this species previously in Georgia (and probably Giff Beaton).

Extreme flight-date period for this species in GA is from approximately 4/10-10/13 based on records provided by Marion Dobbs and Giff Beaton.
