Explanation of Names
The specific epithet oinophylla, is from the Greek words oinos for wine and phylla for leaves, (“wine leaves,”) for the larval host plant. (1)

Range
Collected specimens from Ontario, Quebec; Connecticut, Georgia, Kentucky, New York, Tennessee, and Vermont were examined for the species description. (1)
