Numbers
The largest and most commonly collected genus in Dacnusini. 18 described New World species; many undescribed.

Cosmopolitan. In New World, Canada to Argentina and Chile.

Larvae are parasitoids of mainly fly maggots in family
Agromyzidae. One species-group parasitizes
Hydrellia (Ephydridae) and at least one species attacks rust flies
(Psilidae).
(1)Life Cycle
Egg-pupal or larval-pupal endoparasitoids. Females inject eggs into egg or larval stage of the host. The adult parasitoid kills the host in the pupal stage and emerges from the puparium.
