Identification
Adult: forewing elongate, dark brownish-gray to black with sparse pale speckling and/or pale whitish patches along costa and inner margin; hindwing uniformly brown to gray; top of head yellow in several species
Food
Larvae feed on various foodstuffs of animal origin: carcasses, owl pellets, feces, wool fabrics.
