Body length (excluding legs): approx. 3-13 millimeters.(2)
Identification
Specimens can be distinguished from those of all other zelotine genera by the presence of a cluster of stiff setae on the anteromedian surface of the chelicerae.(2)
Range
barbatus: introduced to California (native from the Mediterranean to Central Asia).(2)(3)
jaxartensis: introduced to USA (natively Mediterranean). Collected in AZ, CA, NV.(2)(4)
lyonneti: introduced to USA (natively Mediterranean). Collected in CA, CO, IL, MO, OR, TX.(2)(5)(3)(4)
