Chalcid wasp
This is a female of the genus Cleonymus Latreille (Pteromalidae: Cleonyminae: Cleonymini). Most species are parasitoids of wood-boring beetles.

Your images are wonderful.
I could sure take some lessons from you!

Your shots...
Wow, I just took a look at your barklice website - my shots get considerably less crisp for anything below 2mm, so I could probably learn a few things from you as well :)

Thanks!
Thanks so much Diane! If you find yourself in the DFW area I hope you'll look me up. I don't teach per se, but I'd be happy to go for a shoot with another bug enthusiast.

If you're interested in making your mp-e 65mm really shine with some professional instruction, you might want to check out bugshot.net. I went to the course in Belize this past January (there's another scheduled for September with 6 spots still left open) where I learned some new techniques and had time to practice in a rain forest full of bugs. Some of the best insect photographers in the US will be teaching this next one - I wish I could make it!
