Light Brown Spider - Metepeira - Female
Glendale, Maricopa County, Arizona, USA
May 14, 2013
Size: 1/2 inch
Found this spider in the front yard. It appears to be related to the black widow.

Moved
Moved from ID Request. I don't suppose you can get a picture of the underside? The ventral markings can help ID these to species.

Perfectly harmless, beneficial, and beautiful orb weaver
in the genus Metepeira. The Black Widow is in a different family.
