Hymenoptera - Ephedrus - Female

Mount St. Helens, Skamania County, Washington, USA
September 23, 2011
Size: 3mm
This specimen was collected from a sticky trap on Sitka Willow (Salix sitchensis) used for a scientific investigation.

I've been attempting to key this to family using Borror and DeLong, and in all other respects it leads me to Braconidae, but it doesn't have enough antennal segments. I don't see a pronotal lobe. Propodeum arises roughly between the hind coxae. Fairly complete veination. No jugal lobe. No costal cell. Trochanters 2-segmented.

It appears to have very distinctive front and middle coxae and the mesopleuron protrudes and separates them.

Its the subfamily Aphidiinae...
... of the braconids. Probably the genus Ephedrus.
