Cantharidae? - Chariessa pilosa

Cantharidae? - Chariessa pilosa
Topeka, Kansas, USA
Size: 1 cm
Lab reared. Pieces of hardwood placed in a rearing cage in December various beetles having started emerging, most are cerambycidae and buprestidae. I believe this beetle was simply overwintering in bark crevices or under loose bark.

Moved from ID Request.

Ch. pilosa [clerid]; antennae rule out Cantharidae
pls make sure to include sighting/capture date and delete ', KS' from the City field

It states the animal was lab
It states the animal was lab reared

right, right; thanks
emergence date would do, though; probably overwintered as pupa
