Size: About an inch long?
The body (thorax) of this insect appeared emerald green in the light, but that was not captured in this photo. Taken about 2pm MST. The flower is an arrowleaf balsamroot (Balsamorhiza sagittata). Photo taken in the northern Bitterroot Valley of western Montana, south of Missoula, MT.
