In this case, the color pattern clinches it. Propodeal shape varies in both this and C. de-cipiens, the other possibility.

Thanks for the ID! I'd considered that as well, but oddly enough I thought that your major worker specimen on antweb wasn't really close enough color wise. Perhaps just a different photography processing, or maybe discoloration with age before imaging?
Any interest in getting the specimen? (I
still
have the Aphanaenogaster texana ready to go, just need to pack it up and ship - wouldn't be too much effort to add this)
