damselfy with black wings - Calopteryx maculata - male

damselfy with black wings - Calopteryx maculata - Male
Chapel Hill, NC, USA, Orange County, North Carolina, USA
May 12, 2013
Size: two to three inches
this damselfly has been flying around the vegetation adjacent to my pond for about a week. The closest id I could come to from my damselfly guide is ebony jewelwing, but they are supposed to be green and this guy is clearly blue. A different species or an odd color variant?

we have a TON of them in Florida.

Moved from ID Request. The color seems to be dependent on the lighting, blue to green.
