I am pretty sure this is a female cow killer and have seen several the last few months. fast moving and hard to photograph. I submit this to the ID page to get it in the guide for SW Missouri.

I have other photos taken the last week, butterflies, bees and my Snowberry Clearwing's - Hemaris diffinis have returned for a late summer visit. I can add data for Missouri but not sure how to do it, sending to here for a correct ID might be best ?

If you have nice images and you know the ID
just submit straight to the correct guide image page. Clicking on "add image" gives you a submission form. No need to go through ID Request, which is rather swamped at present.

You won't believe this.
I lived in Forsyth from late 1999 until January of 2001 (I was downsized by my employer in Cedarcreek)! Your identification is correct, as I collected about three of these when I lived there. I even chased one across the highway. Luckily, there was light traffic:-) Thanks for sharing the image.
