OK, I thinks I know the difference now. The vertical vein at the outer tip of the wing is straight in Braconids, and curved in Ichneumons.

(Very elegant) Braconid Wasp
Venation of right forewing is visible, and this is one of a Braconid: the straight vein separating 1st discoidal from 1st submarginal cell leaves no doubt.
