False Click Beetle - Melasis pectinicornis

False Click Beetle - Melasis pectinicornis
Framingham, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
May 21, 2013
At first, from the profile, I thought this might be a large Scolytid. Then from above I decided it was a plain old click beetle. But then I accidentally distubred it and those gorgeous antennae came out. I think this is a false click beetle, Cerophytum sp.

belonging to Melasis pectinicornis, the only species of the genus in eastern NA.

Thanks to both of you!
