Emmesa - Emmesa labiata

Emmesa - Emmesa labiata
Route du Nord, Nord-du-Qu├ębec County, Quebec, Canada
May 24, 2013
Size: 5.5 mm
My first saproxylic of the season, and I get this little beauty. Smoothly keyed to Emmesa; I can't access Hatch's key, but with the known records in the province and the overal habitus, E. labiata seems a very, very likely match.

Emerged from coarse spruce wood debris collected last fall on the Route du Nord.

Moved tentatively; really cool --will seek confirmation
