Tribal placement
In retrospect, it appears Feuerborniella may best be placed within the Psychodini. See https://www.researchgate.net/publication/262262582_A_new_species_of_Feuerborniella_Diptera_Psychodidae_from_the_paramo_of_Colombia

This is species of subfamily
This is species of subfamily Psychodinae, tribe Psychodini... that's as far as I can go without seeing a slide-mounted specimen. A few years ago I had the opportunity to study an extensive collection of Psychodidae from the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta (in collaboration with colleagues from Mobile, AL and Clemson, SC who were surveying the area). We found that many of the species are undescribed, and many of them are Neotropical elements (species belonging to groups that are more diverse/likely originated in the Neotropical region, but few species can be found in the Nearctic). I'm guessing this photo represents either one of the undescribed Psychoda species, or one of the Neotropical elements of Psychodini. Both are equally possible.
Would be great to see a specimen associated with a photo like this if that is possible in the future.
