Alder Flea Beetle? - Nematus cf-erythrogaster

Alder Flea Beetle? - Nematus cf-erythrogaster
Sewanee, Franklin County, Tennessee, USA
May 18, 2013
I found two of these on smooth alder bushes. I thought they were caterpillars, but I found a similar photograph online that identified them as larvae of alder flea beetles. Anyone know what I found? Thanks!

Moved
Moved from Nematini.

Among the North American sawflies known to feed on alder, Nematus erythrogaster is the only one that comes close to this. More rearing is definitely needed.

That's a new one for me. I appreciate your help!
