Leaf shaped, bark colored bug - Scolopocerus secundarius

Leaf shaped, bark colored bug - Scolopocerus secundarius
South Mountain Park, Maricopa County, Arizona, USA
September 16, 2006
Size: aprox 15mm
My 5 year old son and I were hiking around South Mountain park.. when we returned to the vehicle, we snapped a picture of this strange looking fellow as it sat on the car. Any help in classifying the insect would be much appreciated.

This is the only one of the three species in which the 4 antennal segments are equally stout.

Looks just like . . .
genus Spathocera in Coreidae.
Unfortunately, not listed in Nearctica, and I was also unable to get a match with any nearctic genus.

But Coreidae, for sure.

cheers, Boris

looks like
Family Aradidae - Flat Bugs. images in the guide here

but it isn't
It isn't Family Aradidae, but I'm not sure what family. It is only a superficial resemblance to that family.

Well, let's put it back out
into ID Request then. Thanks!
