Male carpenter ant (genus Camponotus). Unlike queens, male ants of this subfamily have reduced mandible which are strap-shaped, rather than triangular. Some characters to clue you into the males of this genus for future reference: Waist one segmented; first antennal segments long; aroliae very large; outer (external) genitalic segments finger-shaped. A species-level identification for the males of this genus is unfortunately not possible!

Thanks,
Brendon, I appreciate knowing genus. Thanks also for all the other helpful info.
