normal long-ab antlion - Scotoleon dissimilis - male

normal long-ab antlion - Scotoleon dissimilis - Male
Organ Mountains foothills, Doña Ana County, New Mexico, USA
Size: 45 -48 mm
Came to UV lights on greasewood/mesquite/cactus incline below jagged spires of the Organ Mountains. Having just photographed a giant antlion, I decided to shoot a more normal-sized (although still big) antlion for comparison. I saw the long-ab types like this as well as the wings-longer-than-abs types.
