Unknown Flyer with 3 whip-like appendages - Ephemerella

Unknown Flyer with 3 whip-like appendages - Ephemerella
Baboosic Lake, Merrimack, New Hampshire, USA
May 30, 2013
Size: ~.5"
It had 3 whip-like appendages from it's abdomen (seen better in image 2) that were as long, if not longer, than it's entire body and 2 tear-drop shaped transparent (damaged) wings. If sexing something like this is similar to sexing a Mantis, it was a female due to it's 6 or 7 abdominal segments.

Ephemerella
Hi Jace-

I believe this female imago to be of genus Ephemerella.

Mayfly
Among flying insects, only mayflies have three long tails. Stoneflies and some other mayflies have two.
