Texan Mocis ... far away from Texas - Mocis texana

Texan Mocis ... far away from Texas - Mocis texana
Haddonfield, NJ, Camden County, New Jersey, USA
July 25, 2006
After looking on here and the Moth Photographer's group, I'm fairly sure that this is a moth of the genus Ptichodis, but I can't quite nail down which species. I looked at Mocis, too, but there are no dots on the front of the wings, so I'm pretty sure it's Ptichodis. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm sorry that I don't remember a size, but based on the blades of grass, I think this was a smallish moth.

Possible 8745 -- Texas Mocis Moth -- Mocis texana
... wing angles and blurring/shading by vegetation makes it difficult to be more certain.

Re: ID
That was the first one to catch my attention on the Moth Photographer's Group, too, but I didn't see any evidence of dots at the "shoulder". Also, are they up in NJ?

RE: updated
Thanks again for the update. I'll move it to the right spot!
