Moved from Melittia.

Melittia calabaza has some orange on the second abdominal segment. Melittia cucurbitae has a dark olive green second abdominal segment.

Thank you
I kept, for a while, the moth in the fridge.
And I took some more photos. Unfortunately it still moving and I was not able to take ventral images.

Yes, unfortunately for your squash,
it is more than just 'resting' on the squash. It has or will be laying its eggs in the squash stem.

Squash borer?
Compare the "squash borer" moth, Melittia cucurbitae.

I don't know if it's diagnostic, but the leg-banding pattern on all the M. calabazathe on BG, differs from M. cucurbitae

Yes, large black dot
on that first orange segment seems different from cucurbitae
