unknown beetle - Cryptocephalus irroratus

unknown beetle - Cryptocephalus irroratus
Plantation, Fort Lauderdale County, Florida, USA
September 17, 2006
Found this on the underside of a leaf, it dropped off when I got close, but it fell on the leaf below.. it looks like some kind of beetle, at first I thought it was a tiny cockroach nymph, but after looking closely at it I changed my mind.. hoping for some input.

This is a new species of Cryp
This is a new species of Cryptocephalus for North America! I will search the literature to find out whether it is an Antillean species already described or new to science. The elytral pattern is very similar to C. maccus from Arizona but the pronotal pattern is very different.
