pale-face click beetle - Physorhinus fusculus

pale-face click beetle - Physorhinus fusculus
Organ Mountains foothills, Doña Ana County, New Mexico, USA
August 6, 2006
Came to UV lights on greasewood/mesquite/cactus incline below jagged spires of the Organ Mountains. I failed to measure this beetle, but I think it was in the 8 - 10mm range. Brown click beetles are depressingly difficult to identify unless they have stand-out features, so I was elated to discover this pale-faced individual.
