Alydus eurinus

Alydus eurinus
Scott County, Indiana, USA
July 7, 2012
Size: About 20 mm
It's obviously Hemiptera, but I can find no equivalent of it in my reference material.

Moved from ID Request.

Alydus
Probably Alydus.

indeed, the commonest A. eurinus
since taxa named Hemipterida or Hemipteridae do not exist, there is no such thing as 'hemipterid'; members of Hemiptera are casually referred to as hemipterans.
please note also size data only help if measured in mm, otherwise the field is better left blank; estimates are useless for identification purposes (while converted values are the most misleading of all)
