Snowberry clearwing? - Hemaris diffinis

Snowberry clearwing? - Hemaris diffinis
Ottawa-Carleton, Ontario, Canada
June 8, 2013
This caterpillar was feeding on tartarian honeysuckle alongside a trail. I thought it was a snowberry clearwing, but when I checked other images, the 'granulated' appearance in those, was lacking in this one. Could it be an early instar?
